Texas Holdem Poker
Wednesday, 02 March 2011
Texas Holdem is by far the most common poker game. The goal with Texas Holdem is to form the strongest possible card combination. You can do this by combining your own hole cards with five community cards. It’s your own decision to use two, one or none of your hole cards when compiling your poker hand.

With every hand it is agreed which game is played and what the limits are. Texas Holdem is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. An important feature of the Texas Holdem is the dealer button. In professional tournaments there is always a dealer, but the dealer button may be in front of someone else. After every hand the button moves to the next player.

The game starts when the dealer provides every player with two cards faced down. De player left of the dealer is also called small blind and is obliged to make a bet. The player two seats left of the dealer is called big blind. The purpose of the blinds is to start the betting round. The amounts differ with every tournament or cash game.
